It's been a year!

Well, it's pretty late, again I can't seem to sleep and of course my handsome husband is snoozing peacefully next to me. Oh I love him, I don't know if I can say that enough. Don't get me wrong-this past year has been a learning experience for the both of us. Marriage is different than I thought it would be, but better than I could have imagined. When I was 16 as corny as it sounds I knew that what Brent and I had wasn't the normal young dating scene. He made me feel more like who the Lord wanted me to be and helped me realize who I can be. Lately, we have been talking more about our missions in life/goals and we both feel like we haven't been going in the right direction. We didn't really pray about coming to Utah as we should have and are realizing that this isn't the place that we need to be right now in our lives. We are currently praying about where to go after I graduate in about 7 months. You never think of your parents or uncles and aunts going through stuff like this when your not married. Things like money, work, school, kids, church callings, fights, moving, dishes, fitness, spirituality, time, schedules, couple's prayer/scripture study and love. You parents and family have made this all look so easy!!! I personally have been extremely grateful to Mama Linda for sharing stories of when they first were married- it really helps to know that many many others go through the same things that we are going through.

Lets see new events that have happened: Our year I surprised Brent with Jim Gaffagin tickets, and he surprised me with Circus tickets! (Lucky they weren't on the same night :). On my birthday he surprised me with a birthday party! It was really fun, and I was actually surprised! We're just full of surprises these days. I also got a breast reduction (I'll just throw that in there)- I have to say little boobs is where it's at! It was really painful, but one of the best things I've ever done. A lot of people have said that they didn't even know I was heavy chested but I like think a triple D counts and that I hid it well. As soon as the swelling goes down I should be a lovely B cup. When the lady took my tubes and dressings off she said, "Now you can be a ballet dancer!" Brent and I had a good laugh about that one... small boobs=ballet! Anyways, life is good and we're excited for thanksgiving with our families! Ah and to see the newest member to the family Camdyn McDowell! Love you all!

Having a little blog trouble.

Well, I can't (for some reason) get a template on this dumb page- I swear I've tried for hours! Anyways, it's been a busy busy busy week! On Monday we went to this credit lady to help us figure what we need to be doing to raise our credit- it was awesome and she told us a lot of helpful things PLUS we didn't have to pay her! It's been a little crazy in the money area- I'm looking for job for after school (if anyone knows of one please let me know). We're doing our best to get out of debt which is really hard when other things keep coming up that we have to pay for. ANYWAYS, Brent had a photoshoot the other day in the salt flats! The photographers really REALLY liked him. Of course Brent was doing all he does Flips, jumps, and whatever else the McDowell boys do :) We also on Monday went to the Family History Library and looked up some stuff for Grandma- It was a great experience to see Brent get all excited to find what we were looking for. Brent is funny- it was almost like a secret mission! We were there for about two hours and it didn't even feel like it. We are looking forward to going again. Things with our sweet little kitty have been interesting! Lately we've gotten him nurtured, smashed his tail in the door, gave him too much catnip, and he's teeth are falling out! The nurtured was the easy part. We don't let kitty in our room, so went ever the door is open he trys to run in. Well, Brent put kitty outside the door and his tail was inbetween, shut the door and kitty screamed- he's okay just has a little kink in his tail. I've been told to get catnip to clam our baby down- well we got this small bottle of it and I let kitty smell it- and he literally went crazy! Brent was laughing of course, but I was more scared. He fell off the table and was rolling all funny on the ground :( When we took him to the doctors to get nurtured the doctor said that at 3 months he would start loosing his teeth. I had just given him the catnip and then there was blood in his mouth! We later found one of his teeth in our laundy! Anyways, we love our cat! Best thing we ever bought! It's weird that it's almost been a year since we've been married and started living in Utah. We miss our families a lot, and can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving! We'll be there for 5 days! Today is Aunt Kristy's Birthday!!! We are so grateful for her letting us live here, and dealing with us. Oh and we can't find our camera charger, so I don't know when we will get pictures up. We love you all so much!

Ready for the picture..............

SMACK!!!!

Things are going well, I couldn't find my camera so these picture are a little bit older. Linda and Garrick came- we did a lot of things saw some movies, did some shopping, and ate some GOOD FOOD!!! I don't have any pictures because I couldn't find the camera! Linda made some AMAZING FOOD salmon, scalped potatoes, homemade ice cream, THE WORKS! Garrick and Brent had a good time running aways from wasps, and playing games. It's always fun to see them get together and talk about old times- and movie quotes. Grandma, Grandpa, Leah, Michele, and Kat came down for Aunt Dixie's funeral yesterday. I haven't seen the family since las November! The funeral was nice she was an amazing woman. After we went to the Oqurrih Temple open house, it was a quick run through- the only temple I've seen that was that color on the outside. It's the 13th Temple in Utah, and the 130th in the world. So, that means that 10% of the temples are in Utah. We are so lucky to be able to be so close to all these temples. The visit was quick with both McDowells and Warrens. We miss our families and hope to see them soon in California. Loves.

A New Hallway!

This is Ollie's room/hallway
I still have to put that clock up a little, but right now its just hanging out. Brent and I thought we'd go a little daring with this color since it was just the hallway. We LOVE it!

It looks really good walking into the bathroom

A Little more of an update. Brent went to the 311 CONCERT! He said it was a blast, and when he came home he made me listen to their newest cd. "Peanut was wearing this, they opened up with this song..." All this happened at one in the morning, so my excitment really wasn't were he wanted it to be :) Brent has also been really busy with comcast and the digial transition. Poor guy, I have the day off today cause the school went to Lagoon! Tomorrow Linda and Garrick come we can't wait! We do feel bad that we're gone for more than half the day, but at least we're not doing the dancing anymore. Young women's is different than I thought it would be. As a teacher it was easier for me to talk to the girls cause it was my time to talk and teach. In young women's I sit there with my binder of information and listen. The sister who did this job before me IS the most amazing person there is. I guess she did everything, and when I say everything I truely mean everything. So, I've been told I have HUGE shoes to fill which scares me because I only wear a size 8! Everything is e-mail, so I check my NEW e-mail everyday. alexamcdowell@comcast.net Our year mark is in three months, makes me wonder what all the people we know did on their year mark. We probably will just go out to dinner or buy some more PAINT! I looked at prices for some things, but the most expensive ones were the one's I wanted. CRUISE to ITALY! hahaha not yet. Brent and I have been THINKING about a house, and have decided that we need to fix my credit :( I'm fine on my credit card, it's just that when I was in college I didn't pay my knee bills for a while cause they are/were expensive. Anyways, the young women's president is a real estate lady and she is keeping her eye out. We're not moving anytime soon cause we have such an amazing deal here with Kristy (who I love so much) we are just thinking about the next two years. Anyways, we love you all and we hope to go to california sometime soon.

What a Beauitful Life

This is our little baby! We love him so much, he is so full of life and thinks he's a dog HILAROUS! I PAINTED THE BATHROOM, there are some before pictures down a little bit. I thought about Grandma the WHOLE time! She has influenced my life so much and the urge to make our basement look nicer came from her- I love projects! Thank you Grandma!
I got everything in the room from IKEA I love that store more than anything!

This guy (George) taught our class yesterday! He works with the best, and does hair at the grammy's! The taller brown hair girl is Kellee and she gets to go to Vegas to be a model for Signature (a big hair show for salons all over the US). We are so proud of her, Kaysi and I are determined to go to clean up hair or get water for people. George told us to get some recommandation letters for the opportunity. Either way we are going!

Yesterday we had dinner at my mom's new place, did I say that she was moving? Well, anyways she just got this really nice BBQ, so we put it to use after Brent and Bradon put it together for 2 hours! The steak was AMAZING!
